I called DirecTV this past Thursday to schedule for an installation for April 30th, Saturday. When I called, I confirmed it twice with the service representative that my dish will be installed this past saturday. DirecTV told me to wait around on Saturday from 1PM to 5PM for someone to show up. I shifted my schedule around so I can get DirecTV installed. I waited till 4:30PM and no one showed. I called DirecTV to find out why. They told me that there was a misunderstanding and my installation was scheduled for May 7th. WHAT? I could not believe it. I sat around and waited for 4 hours for nothing! I cancelled the whole thing. DirecTV did not even bother to offer me any incentives for the error they have made. They simply said, "It was an error, we will come on May 7th."
I do not understand why DirecTV makes its potential long term customers wait up to 4 hours for someone to show up for installation. I wonder what my boss would say if I told her that I will show up for work some time between 8AM and noon.
DirecTV's slogan is "Rethink TV". They need to rethink about their customer service first. I will never use the service of DirecTV. I will tell my story to anyone thinking about getting DirecTV. Do not waste your time. There are plenty of alternatives out there. Hell, I think cable companies offer better services than DirecTV.
