Dish Network

We dumped Adelphia and installed Dish Network. We have nothing against the products provided by cable companies. In fact, we do miss some cable exclusive products such as high-speed Internet connection and on-demand. We left cable because Adelphia wins the award for having the worst customer service on the planet! With that said, I will not waste more of our time talking about Adelphia. Let's move on to talk about something more positive.

We chose Dish Network because many recommend it for its excellent customer service. And, with great pleasure, we will attest to Dish Network's superb customer service. We had our service up and running on the day it was scheduled even though they ran into some technical difficulties in the morning. Dish Network's local office in Riverside kept us updated via phone throughout the day. They called us on their own initiative! Later, they sent one of the installers at 7 PM to complete our installation in the rain. We ended up tipping the installer with a bottle of wine. Yes, he deserved it!

Our subscription package is called "America's Top 120". We also have HBO. Our receiver is a dual tuner and DVR. It can store up to 100 hours of video. The remotes utilize RF instead of infrared. The first month of service is free. The installation is free. The superb customer service is free.

In the end, TV is just TV no matter what signal feeds it. All cable and satellite companies essentially offer similar products. What makes one company better than the others, more successful than the rest, is its customer service. And Dish Network certainly understands how to build customer loyalty and increase customer retention via excellent customer service. The 80-20 rule applies!

By the way, we went back to DSL for our high-speed Internet connection needs. Although Verizon only has an average rating in customer service, anything is better than our previous provider.
