Bush vs. Kerry One

According to the Gallup Poll on the result of the Bush / Kerry debate, "John Kerry won the debate Thursday night, 53% to 37%, according to a random sample of 615 registered voters who watched the event. Almost half of the viewers said they felt more favorable about the senator because of the debate, and 60% said Kerry expressed himself more clearly than did President Bush.

At six this morning, over 47,000 CNN.com visitors have already expressed whom they think won the first round of the debate in CNN's QuickVote.

Surprisingly, FoxNews.com actually put up an article titled "Both Campaigns Claim Win; Polls Favor Kerry". According to FoxNews' Article, "Both CBS and ABC released quickie reaction polls. The CBS survey of 200 'fence sitters' showed 44 percent said Kerry won, 26 percent said Bush won and 30 percent said it was a tie. The ABC numbers were similar in that 45 percent gave the edge to Kerry while 36 chose Bush and 17 percent said it was a tie."

So I think it is clear that Kerry has won the first round of this debate. However, I think most Americans are sadly too party oriented that the debate performance and results will not change nor open enough minds to make a difference on election day.
