BUSTED

I did one of those rolling stops a few weeks ago at the intersection of Bundy and Pico. As soon as I made the turn, Trendy pointed out that two flashes went off. I knew I was screwed. We got the citation in the mail today. From the pictures, it seemed that I did come to a complete stop and then make my right turn. However, there is also an online video which clearly replays my excellent rolling stop maneuver.

You can see my face was turned to watch out for any possible incoming traffic as I made my turn. And as you can also see, the other cars were making a left turn. In busier intersections, there would normally be a green right turn arrow for cars making that right. I doubt the judge will care about what I have to say.

Yes, I got BUSTED, and it is going to cost me $159 for making a right on red without coming to a complete stop. Man, I was not even in a hurry. What a waste! I guess I will have to give uncle Sam back some of that economic stimulus money I received last week.
