As a very satisfied subscriber of XM Radio for almost 6 months, I am excited to hear that XM will be offering its robust programs via the Internet. With the success of Apple's iTunes and MusicMatch's online music service, it is a good move for XM to enter the area of Internet subscription based music service. "XM will charge $7.99 per month for unlimited listening and offer a discount rate of $3.99 to subscribers of its existing radio services." The $3.99 discounted monthly rate for current subscrobers is not too bad but not cheap enough for me to add it to my current subscription. Yes, I am cheap. I think it should only cost maybe $2 maxium for current XMers. I would have liked it even better if it were a tagged on feature and service free of charge for current subscribers.
Recently, XM added 21 channels of traffic and weather and all NCAA football coverage. I love the NCAA football channels which allow me to listen to games that are not normally broadcasted locally. Unfortunately, Sirius Satellite Radio snatched up the NFL coverages.
