Since Segway did not revolutionize the way we transport, people still manage to find ways to make this agile and expensive scooter useful and perhaps justifiable. A man, Josh Caldwell, plans to travel from Seattle, WA. to Boston, MA. via his Segway at the top speed of 10 mph. It is a 4300 mile journey which can certainly be a challenge. Imagine standing for 4300 miles which is essentially what Mr. Caldwell will be doing. The current plan calls for 70 miles a day.
I wonder how the Segway will perform under the various weather conditions as Josh scoots, I mean Segway, his way towards Boston. After all, this is something that has never been done nor attempted before by any man in history! It beats me why someone would want to do this, but this Segway journey is presented and documented on a cool web site. You can track Caldwell's trip across country as well as see photos and videos recorded by a crew following along in a gas hungry "mobile studio" not getting that great of gas milege per gallon at 10 mph. Hey, did I mention that this has never been attempted by any man in history?
