Mobile Google Maps

You can download Google Maps application for your phone by browsing to http://www.google.com/gmm with your phone's browser. If you like to learn more about Google Maps for mobile phones, check it out here. I tried out the software. It is only limited by a phone's Internet connection speed. I am sure that 3G network phones will make this Google Maps application more useful. However, Google Maps still works well with slower connections, GPRS or EDGE. You just have to wait a little longer for all the map images to download as you scroll around. And Google just added the ability to view almost real time traffic in major cities, a great feature to see how badly you are stuck in traffic.

I had to go to the address http://www.google.com/gmm with my phone's built-in browser. Google could not recognize my phone via my Opera browser for mobile phones. The application for my Nokia 6682, a Symbian device, is only 124 KB. It did not take long to download and install. Give it a shot. It is free.
