Directed by Mel Gibson and written by Mel Gibson and Benedict Fitzgerald, The Passion of the Christ is one of the most controversial films in silver screen history. The movie is evocative. It is definitely a materpiece in terms of cinematography, beautiful and yet disturbing. Beyond the visual perfections, Mel Gibson made the viewers not only watch but truly feel the pain and suffering of Jesus. This is where Gibson demonstrated his mastery in film making. The Passion of the Christ will stir your stomach and stab your heart. You will find yourself emotional and merciful. There were some aspects of the film that were not completely accurate historically. I believe that Gibson intended to alter some of those elements to enhance the overall dramatic effects. This film is far from being a documentary. The Passion of the Christ does not recite, it provokes. It is an experience! The movie portrays passion like no other. It will touch you.
