Wu Gee Chinese Restaurant in Rowland Heights, CA. specialized in Taiwanese Spicy Hot Pot. Well, the literal translation of this type of dish/food is actually "Numb Spicy Fire Pot". Half of the pot is filled with a broth that is red and very spicy. The other half of the pot is filled with regular hot pot broth. The idea of hot pot eating is cooking your own food such as raw slices of meat, vegies, tofu, and etc. in the boiling soup. This type of cooking / eating is absolutely delicious and fun. I love it.
This was the first time I went to Wu Gee. It was great! Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing today forever due to a transfer in ownership. Fortunately, there are many other Asian resaturants with hot pots in southern California.
