Flame Broiler & Crepe Shack

Flame Broiler in University Plaza on University Avenue of Riverside specilizes in Rice Bowls. A beef veggie bowl costs only $3.95 and a rib combo costs $6.25. Both were tasty and filling. The meat was topped with lots of fresh green onions...yum!

Then we walked over to Crepe Shack which is located in the same plaza for dessert. I have never had a crepe before. A crepe is a pancake cooked the french way. It is round, paper thin and closely resembles a fine lace dolly. When folded, the tender delicate covering encloses various kinds of fillings like fruits, ice cream, meat, fish or vegetables according to the Crepe Shack's web site. We ordered a cheese cake crepe and I absolutely loved it. At first it felt a little strange eating a cheese cake with fruit toppings from a cone shaped pancake, but you get used to it very fast after a couple of tasty bites. Crepe Shack also offers sandwich crepes which I cannot wait to try the next time I am in Riverside.
