Recycle Bin Tweak

Do you want to remove your recycle bin from your desktop to have a completely iconless desktop? There are several options to do this. However, the easiest and best way to accomplish this is by downloading an utility program called TweakUI which is one of many Microsoft PowerToys for XP. Other ways to remove the recycle bin include using the hide desktop icon option or by editing the registry as suggested by Annoyances.org.

Before you hide the recycle bin, you should add the recycle bin shortcut to your start menu so you may quickly access it in the future. Follow the instructions here to add your recycle bin to the start menu. When you have finished performing the tweaks, you should have a clutter free desktop and access to recycle bin via the start menu. For example, check out the original screen shot image of my desktop.
