Firefox is becoming a threat to Microsoft. Is it a serious threat? Only time will tell. There has never been a major contender for Microsoft since it introduced Internet Explorer. According to this article, Firefox is quickly gaining ground. This is a feat that other browsers have never acheived since the late 90s. "According to web analytics firm OneStat.com, its global market share jumped from zero to nearly 8.5% in less than five months, and technology sites such as W3Schools.com report rates in the 20% range for web-savvy and home users."

Although I did hear about Firefox a few months ago, it was not until recently that I decided to download the browser. Why did I switch? After seeing a co-worker of mine using it, I quickly realize that Firefox is a powerful browser that kicks Internet Explorer's ass. The web developer extension for Firefox is an amazing tool for web designers. For example, you can edit any web site's CSS and see the changes immediately during the session. The actual CSS file cannot be altered unless you have FTP access to replace the file. This CSS editing feature enables designers to experiment without having to upload any files and make changes to the live site.

Firefox is a great browser and tool for beginners, web-savvy, and designers. Give Firefox a test drive and discover the amazing features that Internet Explorer lacks.
