Sony DVP-NS50P

This Sony DVP-NS50P can play almost anything you throw at it, including CD-R.RW, DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW. I bought this player from Circuit City for $75 which is a decent value. The player has excellent video quality even though I am only using the S-Video output. The component cables would have cost me more than half the cost of the player or more. I thought that was a bit silly. I decided that it was sufficient to stick with the S-Video cable I already own. I hooked up the sound via the digital coaxial output which sounds great with the 5.1 system.

The unit is very slim and sits nicely on top of my outdated monster Onkyo 5-disc DVD changer. My Onkyo has a very hard time reading most of the DVD recordable discs. The Sony DVP-NS50P player is a nice and economical solution to play my own recordings for now.
