Finally, Palm makes a PDA that fulfills all my needs. Palm TX features a 16-bit 320 x 480 pixel screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless , and 128MB of nonvolatile memory. Although, Palm TX uses a slower processor, Intel 312 MHz, the speed is more than sufficient for all my daily apps. The slower chip enables Palm to drop the price of Palm TX to under $300. You cannot find a better PDA with both bluetooth and Wi-Fi at this price range.
This latest model also ships with an OS without the bugs of previous Palm handhelds including the LifeDrive. Now, I can, for the first time under the Palm OS, connect to the Internet by GPRS via Bluetooth using my Nokia 7610. I had already tried to accomplish the same using the LifeDrive without success. I returned the LifeDrive. I almost bought a Windows based PDA. Phew. It is a good thing that Palm released Palm TX just in time. I have always preferred Palm OS for reasons such as stability and efficiency. Plus, I am accustomed to using Palm's PIM and software.
If you are in the market for a PDA in the next 6 months, be sure to check out Palm TX. So far, I have no complaints.
