I added Nokia 7610 to my gear bag and will soon retire my Nokia 7210. While many of my friends have converted to clam shell design cellular phones, I decided to stick with open face designs. For some reason, I just do not like flippy flips. It is just a personal preference and nothing more.

I chose Nokia 7610 for its incredible features and its immaculate big screen. Nokia 7610 is a megapixel camera phone that will capture images at the resolution of 1152 x 864. It can also record videos in QCIF (176 x 144) and subQCIF (128 x 96) sizes. The screen displays images and videos in 176 x 208 pixels, up to 65,536 colors. Using the included data link cable and Nokia PC suite software, I uploaded some of my high resolution photos from my laptop onto the phone to test the screen quality. The phone displayed my photos with awesome detail and quality. I am very impressed.

Nokia 7610 also includes other great features such as bluetooth connectivity and loudspeaker function. In my opinion, the loudspeaker function should become standard features for all cell phones. The ability to converse handsfree without a headset screams convenience. The phone also has a custom designed memory card slot that is MMC compatible using a snap on adapter for extra storage. The box includes a 64 MB card for immediate use.

As you will see in the pictures below, the 7610 is slightly wider than my old 7210. But the two phones are almost identical in their thickness and length. The Nokia 7610's slightly larger build makes holding the unit steady much easier when capturing images in high resolution. Do not be fooled by its larger size, it still fits in the front jean pocket quite easily. I think Nokia 7610's size is just about right, not too big and not too small. I definitely won't complain having the huge high quality screen which too many camera phones lack these days!
