Logitech's MX Revolution mouse is not your average mouse nor does it carry an average price. It is pretty expensive especially for a pointing device. MX Revolution costs between $70 to $100 depending on the vendor. I got mine by using a gift card from Mark. Thank you Mark!
One of the most amazing features of MX Revolution is its precision scroll wheel which is super fast. There are two modes for the scroll wheel: free-spin mode or click-to-click mode (like conventional scroll wheels). The free-spin mode allows the user to scroll up or down long documents effortlessly. You can simply flick the wheel and it will continue to spin on its own. It is hard to describe how the free-spin feels. You'll need to check it out at a store to experience it. Once you have tried the free-spin mode, it is hard to go back to the conventional mode.
MX Revolution uses a laser for tracking. It works on almost any surface flawlessly. I have found that the mouse actually works best on my desk without a mouse pad.
Logitech also placed easy to access buttons and an additional thumb wheel on the mouse to speed up navigation without using the keyboard. The buttons can be customized to perform various functions. I use the thumb wheel to perform the page up and page down functions. I programmed the middle button to switch between opened applications quickly.
MX Revolution is ergonomically designed. The deep-sculpted thumb support is a nice touch and improves grip.
Overall, MX Revolution is definitely worth the heavy price tag especially for those who spend a little too much time on the computer.
