To improve our safety and visibility during our rides in the evening, we installed headlights and taillights on our bikes. The lights have multiple modes: steady, flashing, or rolling. Although the two headlights do not provide enough light to see the roads clearly in complete darkness (good thing there are plenty of street lights), they do provide plenty of warning for the drivers in flashing modes.
The Cateye HL-220 seems to be much brighter than Serfas HL-2 but the Cateye is made of cheap plastic that does not seem to be as tough as the Serfas' alloy body. As for the taillights, both the Serfas TL-200 and the NiteRider TL5.0 are very bright, more than sufficient for the drivers to see us at night.
Check out more photos here.
