XBox Live Arcade

XBox Live just got better with the introduction of XBox Live Arcade. The latest issue of Official XBox Magazine's demo disc included sample games available via XBox Live Arcade. If you are not a subscriber of the magazine and do not wish to pay the crazy $10 newstand price for it, you can still get a free disc from Microsoft on XBox Live Arcade. well, it's almost a freebie. You do have to pay $4.99 for shipping and handling, but you do get to play and keep the full version of Ms. Pac-Man.

The demos are pretty good and they do tempt you to purchase the full version via XBox Live. One of my favorites is called "Alien Sky" which is Galaga on steroids. The graphics and gameplay are incredible. Trendy enjoys playing other games such as "Bejeweled" and "Astropop" on the disc. I wish Microsoft would lower the price for these great classic arcades. Right now, they cost around $10 per game. It would be great if they were only $5 each. I would be downloading like crazy. Well, I am still very tempted to get "Alien Sky". Of course the best feature of these games is the XBox Live feature. You can try to beat the high scores posted by others around the world. This is just like going to the arcades back in the days without having to spend gazillion quarters or tokens.

Check out XBox Live Arcade and get yourself that almost free disc. I must warn you though, you might end up spending much of your hard earned money buying many of these addictive arcade games via XBox Live.
