Joystiq reports, "According to the November issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (#197), Sony may be waiting until 'right before the Xbox 360 goes on sale this November' to 'unveil its grand online plans (including user transactions, multimedia functions, and a bunch of other fancy-schmancy features).'"
Man, I have been waiting to hear about Sony's plan to battle Microsoft's XBox Live for years. Playstation 2's online capability is terrible and downright pathetic. SOCOM is the ONLY PS2 game that can be considered an online game. Other PS2 games with "online capabilities" cannot connect or lag beyond frustration. I switched to XBox more than a year ago for XBox Live. Sure, PS2's online is free; but what good does it do if it does not work. I tried to play Madden online using the PS2. I gave up. I switched to XBox Live and paid my $50. I have not touched a PS2 since and love XBox Live.
Now, I like to look forward. As much as I enjoy XBox Live, I do like to see what Sony has to offer. I have and use Sony laptops, desktop, TV, camera, and etc. Yes, you can say that I like Sony. Yes, I am a Sony person at heart. It is about time that Sony tells us what it is going to do to trump XBox Live. I cannot wait.
