Sony reveals the new Playstation 3! Man, this thing looks good. Sony claims that the features and specs of this new console will rock XBox 360. Just check out the specs and features in the PS3:
- It will support Blu-ray, DVD±R/W, CD-R/RW
- Backwards compatible with the PlayStation 2 and original Playstation
- One 3.2GHz Cell processor—total system performance rated at 2.18 teraflops; 256MB system RAM 3.2GHz, and 256MB GDDR VRAM at 700MHz
- The nVidia graphics will be called the RSX with
1080p graphics support.
- There will be a 2.5-inch hard drive attachment
- Memory Stick Duo slot, and an SD and CF slots
- Bluetooth support with up to seven wireless controllers
- Six USB system ports
Well, we all know the future of gaming requires online gaming. With Microsoft's success and experience with XBox Live, Sony really has to work twice as hard to roll out its own online support similar to or better than XBox Live. It will be a shame to see Sony lose the console war simply because its failure in online gaming support. I dumped my PS2 because I was disappointed and frustrated with its online gaming. XBox Live rules!
Sony seems to have the best next generation console. Let's just hope its online gaming is just as good. If you want to read more about this new console, check out Engadget's PS3 preview. On a side note, I think it is over for Nintendo which is quite sad.
