Forza Motorsport

Forza Motorsport is XBox's ultimate driving simulation game. It is Microsoft's answer to compete against the successful Grand Turismo franchise made exclusively for Sony. Microsoft has certainly done its homework. Forza is beautiful and realistic in all aspects. The game offers over 200 cars. The gameplay is smooth and fun. Although I do not have a playstation anymore, I assume that both Forza and the new Grand Turismo are probably very similar. I would like to think that Forza is slightly better in terms of graphics and frame rates since XBox is a much more powerful console than Playstation 2.

One clear and major advantage for Forza is its online play via XBox Live. I have no idea why Grand Turismo fails to include an online mode for its latest installment. What a major disappointment for the franchise. Forza's online mode allows you to compete against players around the world in single player career mode. Before and after each race, stats and records of others can be viewed for individual tracks. You can see how well you stack up against others every time you race. In other words, you compete with others with your best time. It is a great feature that will provide a ton of replay value. The online mode also allows you to race against others with your own cars you have earned and built from the game. Furthermore, you can also buy, sell, and trade cars via XBox Live.
