Conner Jones

Congratulations to Nathan and Betsy. They have a new son, Stephen Conner Jones, who was born on October 22, 2008, at 7:06pm. He weighed 7lbs 2oz and stretched 20 1/4 inches.

Rachel and Tom

Rachel Shelton and Tom Randall got married on October 25, 2008. The wedding took place at a remote location in Corolla, NC, accessible only by 4 by 4 vehicles. Check out their wedding web site at rachelandtomswedding.com for more details. It was very fun driving on sand with the waves crashing right next to the tires. Congratulations Rachel and Tom!

Married on 9.20.2008

We did it! After dating for seven years, Trendy and I made it official and got married on September 20, 2008, in Las Vegas! We had a small and cozy morning ceremony and a limo tour of the Vegas strip in the evening. A handful of friends joined us to celebrate the weekend with us.

Surprise Birthday Party for Trendy

We threw a surprise Birthday party for Trendy's 30th on the rooftop. Although the weather was surprisingly colder than usual for Los Angeles, we still had a blast. We want to thank everyone who helped us to make this possible. Most of the people traveled a long way to make her 30th birthday a very memorable one. Much appreciated.

iMac

We are now all macs! For Trendy's Birthday, we got her an iMac. The all-in-one is packed with a 2.4 GHz Intel core 2 Duo processor, 1GB memory, a 250 GB HD, a SuperDrive, a remote, and a built-in 20" screen powered by an ATI Radeon 2400 XT 128 MB graphic card. We transferred all of Trendy's PC files from her laptop using our network drive and an external drive. We used thunderbird to import and transfer her outlook mail messages from the PC.

I partitioned some of her HD as MS-DOS so that I may continue to back up her files and sync her iTune files with our network drive using Microsoft's Sync Toy utility. With that said, I guess I should say that we are almost all Macs since I did set up my Mac Pro to dual boot XP so I may still use a few PC only essential apps.

My favorite line comes at the end, "To all those Joe Six Packs out there playing a drinking home at home...maverick." *pops open a beer* *wink*

Trump, Mandalay, Mall

I took some random shots when we checked out the Trump tower at Vegas, the mall across from the Trump tower, and the Shark Reef in Mandalay Bay. Trump tower was covered in its signature gold tinted glass. The color of the light reflected off these tinted windows onto the street is amazing. And only a mall in Vegas can have a runway that rises from the ground.

Brookstone BoomBucket

Brookstone's BoomBucket sounds pretty good for a portable iPod speaker. It includes an iPod dock, standard audio input, remote, and built-in battery that lasts up to 8 hours. I mainly use it as my computer speaker and iPod charger. I hide it behind my monitors. If you are looking for a decent iPod speaker dock that is versatile and will not break your bank, check out Brookstone's BoomBucket. The sound quality will surprise you.

Chihuly at De Young

Trendy and I went to check out Chihuly's exhibit at De Young in San Francisco. He is an amazing artist. Chihuly is famous for his glass ceiling in Bellagio's lobby. I cannot even imagine how they have managed to move and set up his artwork. They are all so fragile and beautiful.

Sausalito

Trendy and I spent labor day weekend at Sausalito, CA. It was beautiful up there. The view of San Francisco from the shores of Sausalito is breathtaking. There was a haze hovering over the city throughout our stay that prevented clear shots of the San Francisco skyline at night. I was disappointed that none of my night shots turn out as well as i had hoped. Sausalito is a nice little town. It is amazing that this small artsy town is just one Golden Gate bridge away from San Francisco.

Muir Woods

Rachel, Jason, Trendy and I took a short hike through Muir Woods. The red wood trees were HUGE. The next time we visit the trails, I would like to spend more time photographing.

Group Ride to Hermosa

Trendy and I took Rob, Jackson, Kathy, and Joe on a ride to Hermosa from Santa Monica. Riding the bikes on the boardwalk is the best way to see the beaches of Southern California. On the way back, my rear wheel's spoke snapped. We were able to break off the spoke and continue our journey back home. Rob ended up riding my broken bike back to Santa Monica while I took the mountain bike to go home to get the car. Despite the little incident, we enjoyed the ride.
